Q: I forgot my password. What can I do?

A: If you do not remember the password, you can retrieve it from the user area of the library catalog by clicking on ¿Has olvidado tu contraseña?


Q: What devices can I read from?

A: You can enjoy digital content in a variety of devices, including:

  • Anything Android™
  • Chromebook
  • eBook readers (Sony® Reader, Barnes & Noble NOOK™ and Kobo eReader)
  • iPhone®, iPad®, and iPod® touch
  • PC and Mac® computers

Q. What is Nubereader?

A. This is ODILO's powerful HTML5 cloud-based reader that allows you to enjoy a title on any device, whether your desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile device. Nubereader also provides you with digital tools such as notes taking, highlighting, notes sharing, device synchronization, and many other features.


Q: Is there a mobile reading app?

A: Yes, there are iOS and Android mobile apps. EPUB and/or PDF eBooks can also be enjoyed using the Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) software. ODILO's Nubereader also allows you to read from any device.


Q: Do I need an Adobe ID to register the eBiblio reading app?

A: An Adobe ID is not required. Simply choose Madrid from the dropdown menu, and enter your user and password.


Q: How many people can use the same reading app in the same device?

A: Once you log in the eBiblio app, it is associated to that user. You must deactivate the user in order to be able to associate another user in that device.


Q: What is the Preview button?

R: Preview button allows you to read a little piece of a book before borrowing it.


Q: Can I read the same book from multiple devices?

A: Yes, eBiblio app allows users to sync reading from multiple devices.


Checkouts and returns

Q: How many titles can I check out at one time?

R: The maximum number of titles you can check out at the same time is 3.


Q: How long can I access the eBooks?

A: Lending period is 21 days. You can check remaining time on any checkout going to your checked out items.


Q: How long can I access the eNewspaper and eMagazines?

A: Lending period is 2 hours for eNewspapers and 24 hours for eMagazines. You can check remaining time on any checkout going to your checked out items.


Q: Can I return titles early?

A: Yes, if you want to return a document before the expiration date of the loan expires, you can do so in the case of downloaded eBooks using the Return button of the eBiblio application or Adobe Digital Editions and in the case of books in Streaming , from the Return button within the user area. Please note that there is a limitation of 15 advance refunds per user and month, except for eMagazines and eNewspapers, which are excluded from that limitation.


Holds

Q: How many titles can I reserve at one time?

R: The maximum number of titles you can reserve at the same time is 3.


Q: How will I know that my hold on an eBook is ready?

A: If you place a hold on an eBook, you will be emailed when it is ready for pickup. You have 48 hours from the time the email is sent to check out the title before your hold is cancelled.


Q: I do not receive emails on my holds..

A: Check your spam mailbox and the configuration filters. The holds emails could be treated as spam, and you could lose your reservation.


Q: Can I cancel a hold?

R: Yes, you can cancel a hold from the Holds menu at your account.


Social features

Q: Can I rate an ebook more than one time?

A: No, you can only rate each ebook one time.


Q: I can't see my comment after making it.

A: Platform administrator should check and approve your comment before you can see it.


Q: Can I share the ebook I am reading in my social networks?

A: Yes, You can do it using social media icons at the item detail screen.


Adobe Digital Editions

Please check "Adobe Digital Editions installation" to find further information to install Adobe Digital Editions.


A: Can I unlink my account at Adobe Digital Editions.

Q: Yes, you should follow these steps:

Mac Os

  1. Open Adobe Digital Editions.
  2. Press Cmd + Shift + D .
  3. Click on Delete authorization.

Windows

  1. Open Adobe Digital Editions.
  2. Press Ctrl + Shift + D .
  3. Click on Delete authorization.


Q: I do not find the ebook file after download it.

A: The platform generates an acsm file when downloads the e-book. Use Adobe Digital Editions in order to open it.

Usually, the file opens automatically with Adobe Digital Editions, but it depends on configuration of browser and system. Sometimes the file do not open and remain saved at the downloads box of your browser.


Q: After downloading an ebook, I receive E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER message when trying to open it with Adobe Digital Editions.

A: You have already opened the ebook with another Adobe ID.


Q: After downloading an ebook, I receive "Damaged license key" message when trying to open it with Adobe Digital Editions.

A: You should unlink and link again your Adobe Digital Editions account.


Q: After downloading an ebook, I receive "Error check activation" message when trying to open it with Adobe Digital Editions.

A: You should unlink and link again your Adobe Digital Editions account.


Q: When returning an ebook from Adobe Digital Editions and E_BAD_LOAN_ID error appears.

A: Sometimes, there are issues communicating with the Adobe license server when you try to return a title in Adobe Digital Editions (ADE). You'll get an error like "E_BAD_LOAN_ID" or "E_LIC_ALREADY_RETURNED" in ADE. This typically means that the book was successfully returned, but it didn't get deleted from your ADE library. It can also happen if you attempt to return a title after it's been returned.


Q: After downloading an ebook, I receive E_ACT_NOT_READY message when trying to open it with Adobe Digital Editions.

A: This error appears when there is a problem with you Adobe Digital Editions account. You should unlink your account and link it again with your Adobe ID.


Q: I have downloaded a book and I can not read it with Adobe Digital Editions.

A: You should introduce your Adobe ID in Adobe Digital Editions to read the book.


Q: I want to read my ebook using Adobe Digital Editions and E_ADEPT_REQUEST_EXPIRED error appears on the screen.

A: Please check that the date and time settings in your device are correct.


Q: After downloading an ebook, I receive E_AUTH_NO_AUTH_RESP message when trying to open it with Adobe Digital Editions.

A: This error appears when Adobe does not authorize properly your account. Please contact with Adobe support to check the reason why your account has not been authorized.


Q: After downloading an ebook, I receive E_ADEPT_NO_TOKEN message when trying to open it with Adobe Digital Editions.

A: This error appears because an error happened during downloading urllink.acsm file. Please remove it from you computer and download it again.


Q: Adobe Digital Editions does not recognize my ereader.

A: Electronic ebooks are protected by Adobe DRM system. It is necessary that the ereader support this DRM system.

There are some reason why Adobe Digital Editions doesn’t not recognise your ereader:

Your device does not support Adobe DRM:

  • You can check a list of supported devices in Adobe homepage.
  • Kindle devices do not support Adobe DRM.

The device supports Adobe DRM and Adobe Digital Editions but it has not been properly connected to the PC.

  • Follow manufacturer instructions to plug it in correctly.
